As previously mentioned, we are always thrilled to hear stories of your adventures with our products.

Here’s another great one from Rebecca Harris:

“Thank you so much for these boots! These Hunter steel-toed winter boots are a vet student’s best friend! They are the best thing for lambing. I’ve never had cold toes, not even on the night shift!

People often ponder, why Baffin? The answer is simple really. Baffin designs and manufactures top of the line, quality fashionable products. Not a product that you’ll use for one season and toss away but a product you will be able to rely on time and time again. Here is the story of just one of many happy customers.

“This is a wonderful story about a pair of Baffin boots my husband gave me for Christmas seventeen (17) … yes, that is 17 years ago.  They have served me so wonderfully well all these cold, snowy winters … but, he had to look for something that could replace those beautiful boots.  I have had warm, dry feet all these years.  I have had constant compliments on the styling of these boots.  But, I had to admit that the time had finally come when they showed signs of cracks.  Without necessarily looking for the Baffin name, my husband once again chose a Baffin boot because of the style, height of boot and removable liner … and the -40 C warmth.  While I am probably too old to ever wear out these new boots, I am sure that I will enjoy and appreciate them just as much.  I have already received a number of compliments on them and questions as to where we got them … it wasn’t really Santa .. it was Marks.”

Thank you … and keep making quality boots.

Barb Taylor

Barb received her first pair of Baffin boots 17 years ago and just this last winter decided it was time to retire them. She ended up moving onto a new Baffin boot, the Chloe! When reading the email Barb had sent we were pleased to hear that her husband for a second time, picked a Baffin boot, not for the logo but for the quality and sleek design of the boot. This goes to show that Baffin has been working hard to ensure that the quality of our products is always improving.

We believe so strongly in our products that we test them in extreme weather conditions to ensure all quality measures have been met. Paul Hubner, Baffin’s president trekked to the North Pole wearing Baffin products. When returning Hubner made suggestions for adjustments that would improve the boots design. Video can be viewed here : http://www.baffin.com/proven-performance-a/253.htm

You might very well be asking yourself, why does Baffin go to such extreme measures? The answer is simple. The answer is you. We strive to provide the best quality products with the most innovative technology and sleek designs for our consumers. YOU are our motivation and the driving force behind the Baffin name.

Baffin will forever be improving, with new designs and new technology being thought of daily. One thing that will never change, is the driving force behind the Baffin name. We will always be manufacturing products with YOU in mind.

Finding warm winter boots that are lightweight enough to pack along when you are traveling to cold climes isn’t easy – if you treasure the mantra of traveling light and multifunctional, as HI Travel Tales does. So I was pretty excited to find the Baffin Escalate warm winter boots.

These warm winter travel boots ($139.99) are so cuddly cozy as well as being ultra-packable for when you are not wearing them. It is in fact insane how Baffin has combined packable, ultralight and warm all together in these winter travel boots.

The women’s version (what I tried) comes to about mid-calf, while the men’s are cut a bit lower –to lower calf above the ankle. Other than that they are basically identical. Waterproof, breathable, high-loft down insulation, hex-design EVA “AirGrip” outsole, and front lacing from mid-foot to the top with a drawstring toggle closure for easy on, easy off, and a drawstring toggle collar to keep out insistent snowflakes. Despite being calf-high, these warm winter travel boots squish down to pack to a size not much larger than a normal street shoe. This is what makes them such ideal winter travel boots.

My boys love to spend time outside. It doesn’t matter to them what the temperature is, -40 or +40 and they will be asking me to go outside and play.  I LOVE this about them. They have such diverse interests like climbing trees, playing video games, inventing games with their imagination, and in the winter climbing snow banks and having snowball fights.

Living in Ottawa, our winter temperatures can vary, and it could be -40 with windchill one day, and -5 no wind the next.  We need to be prepared for it all, and the cold doesn’t stop our lives from continuing.  I was introduced to Baffin Boots 2 years ago, and I fell in love with them.  It was the first winter I played outside with the kids without having cold feet.

Both the boys needed new boots this year so I decided to check out Baffin’s kids line. I love that they have boots with coverage to -60.  Mr. K’s boots are good to temperature levels of -40, and Mr. J’s to -60.

baffin collageHis boots are the Flame Jrs and have the fastener to tighten the straps, which I find works well for the little ones. It’s super quick to get them tightened.

We are having fairly mild temperatures, and only one day of snow (with a very little amount) that they haven’t had a good chance to test them out.  Mr. K wore his to school the day we had our first (and only) snowfall.
